MELISSA RODNON

Melissa Rodnon has been teaching dance to children since 1988, and has taught at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center, the 92nd St.Y, USDAN Center for the Performing Arts, St. Bartholemew Pre-School, and as a guest teacher at Sarah Lawrence College and Adelphi University. She has been on the faculty of Ballet Academy East since 1993, where she continues to teach ballet to children and adults. Melissa has performed with numerous choreographers in NYC & abroad, and in 1997 appeared as a principal modern dancer in Dances Patrelle's full-length ballet, "Romeo and Juliet.” In January 2000, Melissa and three other NYC artists founded the Williamsburg Art neXus (WAX), a multi-disciplinary rehearsal and performance space in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.  A native New Yorker, Melissa graduated from Hunter College High School and received a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from Wesleyan University.
